Deer have been nocturnal for the most part. Have a few nice ones on the trail cam but all after midnight. Not quite pre rut yet but getting close. More activity this week then the last.

I agree. All of my trail cams (south of Texarkana) are getting bucks about an hour before daylight, like clockwork. I found a fresh scrape nearby over the weekend though.

I believe the primary occurred starting on Monday (17th) after opening day. The little cool snap was enough to kick things in to high gear. This was in north Howard county, most years, you can pretty well bet on things getting real serious around the 13th-15th. The best day all year as far as movement was October 17th.

I have seen very little rut activity in eastern union county as of last weekend. Hopefully this weekend will be in high gear, surly it's not over.
