Quail season runs from Nov 1 to Feb 9. I see no reason to split it out. If you don't like deer hunters then stay out of the woods when gun season is going on. Too many laws already...no need to make any more. I don't agree with a single comment I see here. Less regulation and more freedom.

I've been angrered by the game and fish commissions idea of how to handle things for a while, they seem to cater to which group of hunters or fishermen pump the most revenew into the commission instead of the local economy. They fill our lakes and rivers with striped bass telling us they do no harm to the fishery, and that they don't feed on bass or other gamefish, evidently they have never cut one open, I have personaly never cut a striper open that did not have game fish in its stomach, including a two pound bass I cut out of a 20 pound striper. Then ther is the whole dog issue, my family has always hunted deer with dogs and continues to do so and will always hunt with dogs, u can call us lazy, or what ever you want to but any one who would think such is not sporting or those that do use dogs are lazy should try to feed and take care of 20 dogs to use them two weeks out of a year. We do it because we enjoy it. Now about the hogs, the feral hog is probly the most sporting critter in the woods, eats better than any deer you could kill, and does no more damage than 4 wheelers to the woods. I don't think they should be treated as a nusiance, no more than a striped bass, and sure should not be shot and left to stink up the woods, like the game and fish commission has asked people to do, and have payed their techs as they call them, to do in south Arkansas.

Hi: a great idea Wayne. I am also worried about the danger. Orange cap, vest, etc. should, but does not, insualte you from a careless mistake or unbidled anger that could cause a weido to lose it. We quail hunters should lobby hard for a split season. Jack Sims

I have been a long time quail hunter since the 70's and I have always wondered why the Game and Fish Comission couldn't have a early quail season then get it out of deer season completely then have another quail season after deer season. Having the same amount of days to hunt quail but only with two seasons. The reason for this is I have made a lot of deer hunters very angry while quail hunting. Please let me know why this couldn't be arranged. Thank you, Wayne Canada
