Got this in an email.

13 feet, 1 ΒΌ inches 680lbs Arkansas County 09/19/10. Caught near Arkansas Post on Private land.

We would like to post a couple alligator hunting stories on the website, if anyone has been on a hunt or knows someone, let us know and we will write an article about it.

I knew you had to have a permit to hunt gator or apply for one or something like that but did ya'll know you have to have some sort of permit just to own a skull?  I found one on our duck lease like 10 years ago and it was so dirty and aged it had to have been dead several years.  I took it home and was gonna have the taxidermist clean it up but the game wardens checked him, wrote him several tickets, took 3/4 of his horns, all his ducks, and my gator head.

Alligator is amazing when done right.  I had some while down in the delta of Mississippi golfing once.  It taste like high grade premium chicken.  Some places I have had it though its like chewing fried leather.  Just depends on the source and the cook I guess...

Visiting my daughter in Lakeland Florida first week of January. Cow pasture and small lake behind their place. While waiting for folks to get ready to go to Disney World I was checking out the lake and saw a huge gator laying on the bank. I would guess it 8 ft. easy, probably 10 ft. long. Sure was missing my Mathews.

The skull I found was pretty big to say the least.  When I stepped over a log and saw it you would have though I stepped on a rattler!  My grandpa called AGFC to find out a way to judge size from the skull and they said if you measure the length from between their eyes to tip of nose it should be close to how many feet long it was.  This one measured 15 inches so.....not sure about that.  Anybody ever tried this?

That's the measurement practice they said to use on Swamp People. Never seen one that big.
