Well my name is Tibby and I just found this site and I love it! Hunting Arkansas is awesome I just wished I lived there. Anyway I'm from Louisiana so I would like to go squirrel hunting up there but I would like to stay in the southern part of the state. Which area would you guys recommend? What do I need to hunt there like as far as a permit? And when does the season open? Thanks for the help iamwithstupid

Entitles the holder to hunt migratory birds, quail, rabbits, squirrels and furbearers for the five-day period specified.  $55.00

This is straight off the Game and Fish website.  I knew the season opened early and I thought they had a short season in early summer but I had no idea it had been open since May!  I live in SW Arkansas in Magnolia.  It's only about a 30 min drive from Springhill, LA where I work.  It seems like there's squirrels just about anywhere you look down here.  I think squirrel hunting is becoming a lost art, especially with dogs.  I still love knocking down some bushy tails though!

Hey man always nice to have another hunter to talk too.  I live in west memphis and I know around here that on certain NWR's that the season opens up on 9\1 but for the most part everywhere is open before then.  Me and my buddies usually hunt cache river refuge and we usually kill alot of squirrels, you just might have to walk a little ways.  Good luck to ya wherever you hunt em at man and just try and leave some for me.
