I am new to NW Arkansas and am very interested in doing some bear hunting in the 2009 season.  Any ideas or suggestions of good areas to bear hunting either private or public?

Welcome to the forum.

I have heard of a lot of bear kills in the Ozark National Forest and White Rock WMA - White Rock is in Crawford/Franklin/Johnson/Madison/Washington counties in Northwest Arkansas.

You can check out the White Rock map on our WMA maps page.

Also I think Piney Creeks usually produces a few bears. It is in Newton/Johnson/Pope.
