Curious as to what weight everybody has their bow set at? Startin to wonder if maybe I could get away with takin it down a notch so I would have to "bow" up on it so much to pull it back. I'm a big guy so not strugglin or anything just trying to make it as smooth as possible.

I shoot a Mathews outback at 70lbs with 80% letoff.  I'm a small guy, (160 lbs) but for some reason i feel comfortable at this draw.  Shooting 312 fps.  So i guess it just depends on what you are comfortable with.

I can shoot 70# but i get tried faster so i pull about 62 #. To me i can hold my bow better pulling less # so i try to keep it around 60#. Its what ever feels good to you. Most of the bows we set up at Ingram's they ask us what # we shoot  we tell them around 60.

Got my bow set at 65 but still thinking of taking it down a notch. I'm just wanting it to be as smooth as possible. Do you guys feel like i would lose a lot of speed taking it down 5#'s?

I took mine from 70 to 65 and I can't tell a difference. I don't get caught up in fps and all that though. Let the professionals worry about that. If you aren't comfortable you aren't goin to hit anything anyway.

I've got my bow at 55-60 pounds. The main thing is you want to be able to smoothly pull it back. Lower poundage is fine as far as killing potential.

63# on a 14 year old bow, and it still kills game. I keep thinking about a new bow and then go out and kill a pig or deer or two with each season so no need for something new I guess.

I shoot a pse spitfire 2 crossbow so I don"t have a choice on draw weight, but I have killed several deer and one turkey with it.

Mathews Switchback XT, used to be set at 60 but when I put new strings I tried it at 70. I could pull it ok but during practice I got tired faster and began to shake, which led to bad habits and thoughts. So I backed off to 65 and I'm doing fine. I can shoot 20 30 arrows before I get too tired. I'm 6ft. 205 lbs (52 years old)
