I have been shooting a High Country bow for many years, and have always stuck with a 70 pound draw.

Switchback XT, cranked it up to 70, I could draw it fine, but holding it I shook more and for what I was gaining in speed I cranked it back down to 60-65. I'm 52 years old too so...

Curious as to what weight everybody has their bow set at? Startin to wonder if maybe I could get away with takin it down a notch so I would have to "bow" up on it so much to pull it back. I'm a big guy so not strugglin or anything just trying to make it as smooth as possible.

This is a common question and my personal opinion is to first determine how far you feel comfortable shooting.  Everything stays pretty flat at 25 yards.  but if you practice 35-50 yards, you might want to get up around 70.  Other than that 60 is  plenty.  FPS wont matter at 25 and closer.  It's a gimmick to the average hunter.   However everything matters at 40+ yards.
