I have a PSE Mach 6 I was given several years ago.  I love it, love how it shoots, and have killed multiple deer with it.

But, I have never put a new string on it (or new cables for that matter).

I was wondering how often some of you other archers replace your string?

Also, are there any strings out there you would highly recommend?

My strings are Circa 1997 and still going. I'm not sure the brand, but they are those zebra strings. I just wax them once a year.

When I can't shoot like I should. I just recently had mine redone and man did it make a difference. I wax mine as much as I can. It was the original so that puts it 7 years old. I used Vapor Trail. Inexpensive, but good for the money.

I like to ony when they start looking like they need it,sometimes years.
I will also make a bet that if you are shooting better since you replaced your string, it has alot to do with your confidence level being higher than before. You have to feel like you are a great shooter to shoot great.
Alot of people dont realize this.I personaly think its 75% attitude and confidence 25% bow... sunny

I just replaced mine. I shoot a 2007 PSE Firestorm X and just replaced the factory cable & string with some custom Korbins Archery Diamond coat strings. Custom colors, etc. More expensive, but NICE strings and come with a 2 year warrenty and just about any color you would want. Also no twist, which is nice to get rid of my peep tubing.

Great guy and you will not find better customer service anywhere!

I just replaced the sting and cables on my High Country bow I purchased new in 1993. I have killed a whole lot of deer with that bow and the original string and cables. However, I would not recommend going that long without replacing them.
