Tomorrow is opening day gun season. I am torn, bow or gun. I am headed to an old honey hole that can have large bucks, I harvested my Huh? Huh? biggest buck here. I am curious, how many bow hunters will leave the trusty rifle at the house and hunt with the bow. I am not anti-gun, I just don't want the P&Y to walk by and I am holding the trusty 30-30.

I'd take the rifle.  If you do see a P&Y buck, you can always pass on him and save him for a later date.

If you do take your bow, you might even see a B&C buck a hundred yards away and wish you had your rifle. Wink

I highly doubt I will walk into the woods with a gun this season. Unfortunatly I will not be hunting this weekend. I am going to be holed up in my room studying everything I can about the cardiovascular system.  Cry

What better way to learn the about the ins and out of cardiovascular system than by putting yours to the test while hunting??? Seeing a giant B&C walk out; hiking to your stand; stalking and tracking; etc.  Grin

I used the 30-30 this morning to harvest nice 8 pt. Now I'm back with the trusty Mathews after Mr. Big.

I always use the bow during gun season.I have just shot my 6th deer this year with a gun and i have shot over 100 with the bow.Im backwards as i have started bowhunting before i ever gun hunted and once you kill them with the bow first a gun just seems useless......
