Martin Cheetah... with NO2 hooked up to the cam... she smokes down the line at the speed of "Pike"... doesn't matter if you hit a tree, it has so much velocity it merely breaks the time/space barrier and goes back in time and smacks the deer in the past causing it to seizure in the present, then returning to the future with a perfect shot. It's really simple once you break down the fundamentals of sub atomic particle acceleration with Martin bows.

Funy thing about Mathews is their new line up. Looks like they hijacked 2 from the PSE line up!

I have a Bowtech S.W.A.T I love it. I pull about 60# it still fast to kill a deer the last time i check it was shooting around 287 that is with a hunting arrow. The best thing to do is go to the bow shop shoot some an see what u like. A lot of good bows are out there it just up to what feels good to you. B/c you are the one that is going to spending a lot of money on it so get one that you like  an that feels good to you.

How often do you guys update to a different/new bow?

I've had my Hoyt going on 4 years with really no plans of changing. I have some friends that "upgrade" every 3 or so years.

I still shoot the same old 96' Martin XRG Jaguar with 65% let off. I am still able to hold it back steady and kill deer with it. Why change, it won't make you a better hunter.

Hoyt Alphamax 32.  Couldn't be happier with this bow.  I felt a lot of people at work thought I was crazy for going with a Hoyt (they are matthews lovers).  Only a few normal bow hunters made the statement that I have a great bow.  If it works for me, I don't care what anyone else is shootin.

Good that you are getting an early start. You should be pretty sharp by the time season rolls around. I would recommend going out and shooting from your tree stand some. As a beginner, those angles were what threw me the most.

The first bow I ever had as a kid was a recurve. it's an entirely different world of course from a compound with all the sites, rests and gadgets. takes a lot of practice before you are ready to make a good shot on an animal.
