Sounds like you are off to a good start. Do you know all of the natural food sources and water holes around you? The latter being especially important at the beginning of bow season since it is still going to be hot.

It sounds like you got it going on,Kevin is right about the food source and any watering holes the deer will travel these areas because it is natural to them.If you have any water in the area you are going to hunt. I would put a mineral site close by,That is what I added to my hunting area this year and the deer are at every day.I use a mineral block and I got it about 50 yards from a small creek that is spring feed.

Be careful and watch your sent.I like to have several diffrent stands, one for north wind, south, and west. You can check before you go on here, and also remember that if you let your sent blow to the bedding areas more than a few times, they might go nocturnal on you...Good luck this year!!

You mentioned you have a lot of white oaks. Look for the acorn producing white oaks. There is a food source. Unless you have countless white oaks on your property, deer are not going to pass up white oak acorns when they start falling. I agree with other posters, set up near water hole sources early off, use Scent-A-Way soap before every hunt and Scent-A-Way spray before going into the woods. Make sure you are wearing rubber scent free boots. Just a couple simple suggestions that hopefully will help you out if you are not already aware of them.
Happy Hunting, and wear your safety harness in your tree stand.

#1 scent control my alpha burgly,s because if a deer smells you, you will never see him/it i try to go as high as i can and still feel confortable .I allso like to have a small food plot for late winter with some fertilizer on it o they can retain fat with winter wheat and rye grass.

Moodyhuntingcamp i hunt in Garland county in the Lonsdale area mostly hard wood we have 2 creeks and 2 ponds on our lease i have been hunting Dallas county in the Round Hill area for the last 23 years in the pines with some oak areas that were still around but the timber companys are in it for the money and they will not be happy untill there is nothing but pines left down in south arkansas but the land belongs to them they dont care about hunters as long as they can lease it for $5.00 an acre it just pads the pocket a little more i have hunted in Garland county for the last 3 years and its a different animal those are mountains not hills and timber companys dont hardly plant in the mountains its bad on equipment i know you could not get me in a skidder on the side of those mountains it would be like getting on a ride at the state fair we have 880 acres now and we have 6 guys its great no trouble like you have with larger memberships i served as president,vp,camp master,in my old camp and you can not please 25 men allways some kind of trouble i miss some of my old buddies you form a bond after that many years but at some time you have to give it up but enough about that go to your local co-op and get you some winter wheat and rye grass and a small hand spredder and some 13-13-13 fertilizer you will be happy late in the year when every thing is dead and you have that lush green patch because the deer will come they can not resist.

Rubber boots, sneaky quite in and out, pattern using camera and wind in your face, wind in your face, wind in your face. You can cover a lot of your sent but you still gotta breathe. wind in your face, wind in your face! AND pratcice shooting because you probably will get just one chance at Mr. Big if he does make a mistake. I call it doning the dance, enjoy!

Amen on the one chance that has been my experience in all my years of deer hunting the big ones you get one chance then they are like ghost you never see them again rubber boots, scent control, and wind in your face with eyes wide open because they will show up out of thin air anyone who has ever hunted clear cuts will tell you that you will wonder how they got there without you seeing them.i am 55 and have been hunting since i was 13 i started out with and old savage 410/22 over and under now i use a browning a-bolt medallion 270-cal, and hunted many years with a remington 30-06 742 woodmaster

hey jennis and everyone else that has been posting on here. i would have that cable checked out at a pro shop to be safe. I got some plot food seed and spread that out in the same area that my corn feeder is in. I rather had had another spot just for my food plot but it's the only open area i have really. I do have a ton of white oaks that are already starting to drop some acorns. 12 days left guys wish all you the best of luck. O! and has anybody gotten any good trail cam pics yet?

Hey hunting guys and moodyhuntingcamp this bow was my x husbands. On this bow, i have a 70 lb pull it is not bad, but i am wondering what is teh lightest pull weight on a bow i can buy? Or if there is any way i can alter this? After our divorce he left it and i got into hunting I am not very familiar with using a compond bow as a crossbow. I know alot abotu the bow but not how to use it particularly. Thanks moodyhunting camp i will get it checked out I have never introduce my self. My name is Jenni i am from mountain home. I am 35 almost 36 and i am very active. I like to have fun and hunting has become one of my favorite hobby. I have my own land in the country about 140 acres. I have one small water way creek on my land and a small pond. It stays full most of the year except in dry weather it gets a little low. But it is a good thing to have for deer and other prospect hunting animals. I have planted a food plot with clover and alfalfa. Is that one of the best things you can plant or is there something better? I have put down 3 Mighty Deer Sweet apple flavor blocks down for mineral. Is there anything else i can do maybe? I need a hunting partner hehe Any sujestions would be super! Reply to me here or on Yahoo IM @ jennis1975 . Thanks hunting friends
