I took a little stroll this evening and the bucks are opening up the scrapes again in my area. New rubs too. I might try some rattling in the morning. Also means that as soon as rifle season is over the does are in for some harpooning!

Do you hunt in Yell county.... private or public land. Not trying to steal your spot or anything just wondering whats going in my area cause it seems like the does are already herded up and there isnt a such thing as a buck. I hunt on private land that boards public (petit jean) and this year the deer movement has seemed a little strange.

I reckon it's about time for the does that are still open to go into heat again. Could be a good weekend to be on a stand.

Yell county, near the lake. I'm seeing the does bunched up, corn getting nailed. I am on private land. The scrapes seem to have been made by bigger bucks, judging from the broke limbs and fesh rubs. When gun season goes out I'll be in doe mode! I promised the landowner meat, hate to break a promise.

Well i know that NEA theres not much buck action ive seen a few fresh Scraps but not much action even with rattling....Sad....Im going to try to stand hunt tom but all ive seen the last few days has been Doe Doe Doe...Just a bunch of does.....But my dad always said if theres does coming to that area there will be bucks there too might not be together but they will be in the same area though....So im guessing its time to track there feeding habits again and get back into catching them coming from there feeding ares or going to there bedding areas...

Sounds like probably just a high ass buck-to-doe ratio. Start thinning those dudes out. If not, it's just going to get worse and worse. I don't know why the AGFC doesn't let us take more does. It's not good for the population at all.

Kevin, starting today I'm not good for the population either, I've let the does walk long enough, rut is over. Time to do some harpooing! But you know what will happen now, won't see does either. Always seems to work that way.
