Does anyone hunt according to the moon phases? I have always heard good things about it. I still haven't had much luck. I spooked a couple of does last night going back to my truck, but that was it. The only thing I saw. I'm not having much luck so far, but this is to much fun to just sit at home. The weather has been a little to warm for me, hopefully it will cool down soon. Good luck to everybody, hope you bag one soon.

I don't pay attention to the moon phases (although I probably should). Usually, I just go hunting whenever I have the opportunity.

I call myself watching the moon and modifying my hunting by it. In general, I like to be on the stand in midday on a full moon. I hunt early and late also, but if it's a full moon I make sure to stay late and usually won't come down until 1 or 2pm. Over the years I've seen deer move at midday on a full moon. Seems like on a new moon you might see them any time of day, but mostly early and late.
The past few days I've been hunting in the evening-because I've been doing other things in the mornings- and seeing deer around sundown time. Talked to my stepson awhile ago and he reported that he and his buddy been getting all their daytime pics between 9 & 12.
Bottom line I'm like Wizard-hunting time is when I can go.

I hunt by the moon pase all the time. However, I killed my biggest buck when it was not a good time or phase to hunt. When they have a doe on there mind it is hard to pattern a buck. No matter what this always holds true. A buck has to eat, drink, and move from a feeding area to a bedding area. So far this year for me though the moon phase calander has been right on. I dont know about you guys but the deer are funny this year. It could be an eraly rut. However, I have several good bucks on cam, but they are comeing in around 2 to 4 am and not during the day time.

I hunt anytime I get a chance. But, considering the moon phases when I hunt, I believe deer/game in general can be predicted by the phase. I don't necessarily believe that a full moon is a bad thing. It just depends on rise/set. Those fish and game forecasters are darn accurate and I believe they are based on moon phases, as well as other factors.

A old man told me years ago that when the moon is up the deer will be moving. So i try to see what time the moon is coming up and going down i've had some luck with this.
