According to the Versus "Rut Map", We're in an early Rut. I strongly disagree! I think we're in a early pre rut maybe late pre rut. What does everyone else think> What kind of activity is going on in your nick of the woods?

Bow they have a real good rut report map on this website where people submit their reports. it's under scouting in the menu up top. i have seen that vs map before and its kinda like the weather channel when they just cover the entire state with rain and if it rains somewhere they say 'see i told you so'  Cheesy

I agree with you though i think we are definitely in the pre rut, probably the late pre rut from what i've seen with early scrapes and from what everybody is saying on the rut report here.

Okay awesome. I've seen a few good scrape lines and a few rubs here and there but nothing to say they're in a full rut! Tomorrow morning its supposed to be 25 degrees for our first freeze! Of course I have to work but I think it will make out to be a good weekend!

FYI, here is the link to the report: http://www.arkansasoutdoorsonline.com/arkansas-rut-report

This is just the second year for the map, but it's becoming pretty popular. It's the second most visited page on the entire site, next to the game and fish forecast.

I am thinking in the future we will do some type of map like versus just for the state. It's tough though because one person reports one thing and another reports the opposite. Fact is, bucks all go into to different phases over a few week span or so; it's tough to nail down just where and when which bucks are doing what.

Anyway, I talked to my dad yesterday about 6:30 you guys' time, and he was watching an 8 point out the back door fiddling with some does. He said he didn't seem real fired up but he was definitely interested. That's in north central Arkansas, Fulton County.

I shot a doe last night. When I picked her up, she was swollen. She hadnt started bleeding, but she looked close. I have seen several does in the first week in november bleed and be prime for breeding.
The bucks that I have seen don't have swollen necks yet, but I am sure that will be soon.

From what I can tell only the young bucks are chasing. All the deer are edgy though. I believe that the next two weeks are the prime time and the day for me is November the 11th, veterans day. The bucks necks may not be swelling, but mine sure is. Forward all my mail to the stand.

I think the does are coming in to heat. I went to my feeder on Saturday to put a new battery in and when I got within 25 yards of it the deer scent about knocked me down. It's either the does or there was a really rank buck there recently.

From what I have seen, we're definitely in the late pre-rut. Keep your eyes pealed over the next couple of weeks for lots of heavy rut, although right now is the best time to be in the woods.

I'm gonna try some rattling/grunting this evening and see if I can make something happen. I pulled pictures and the bucks are still in the area, although not on camera as much. Good wind, pre-rut, lets get it on!
