Summer Deer Bait

I have been doing a lot of reading about different homemade salt licks and other recipes for deer bait. I am excited to try out one of these recipes, but it seems that most people put these out in the spring.
I have just joined a new deer lease so I obviously wasn't able to put out any bate before the summer started.
Does anyone know anything about a deer bait that is good to put out during the summer or early fall?
Also, does any body out there have any favorite homemade recipes or bait ideas?

I don't have any homemade recipes, but I keep out salt blocks all year long. All the critters need salt. I keep blocks out by my feeders so the animals come to them year round. That way it doesn't take long for them to figure out when I fill up the feeders.

It's not a bad idea to mix mineral with your salt. Deer need salt, but the mineral is what will make their antlers grow.

I have mineral salt out year round you can buy it at your local farm store and in about 3 years you will have a spot you could put a 55 gallon drum in find you and old rotten stump pour it on top and the deer will tear it out of the ground i allso put a little deer coke and stump licker around it the deer and other critters love it.
