I have heard this from several people this year depending on their location. However, I hunted North Central Arkansas and the rut was dead on. I probably saw more activity this season than ever before, and everybody else around the area said the same.

However, lots of mixed reports in NWA, and most people in Southern Arkansas said the same thing you are saying. Check out the rut report for some first-hand accounts if you haven't check it out yet: Rut Report

This was definitely an odd year for the rut. Still yet to hear what caused it to be so whacky. Guess maybe because of the cool weather we had so early this year. Even though they say it has more to do with daylight than weather so really that shouldn't matter.
