want to say hello..im new to site. live in NE arkansas, paragould actually and hunt in the Beech grove area. i was wondering what yall thought was working best right now? grunting, rattling, doe bleats, doe urine? pretty much all the bucks ive seen r chasin does. atleast the smaller buck r, not sure bout bigger ones.

The pre-rut is best for grunting and rattling. But, once the bucks group up with the does, the effectiveness of rattling and grunting will really tail off. If the bucks in your area are really tending to the does, you're just going to have a hard time calling him off of her. That's definitely not to say it doesn't work though. I always rattle and grunt because I can never be sure exactly when they are in pre or peak rut. But if it isn't working as usual, you can bet they are peaking.

As far as scents, I would use estrus scent right now Their more concerned with does than other bucks if they are rutting hard, so I go with the estrus vs the dominant buck.

this time of year try anything. deer are starting to get crazy and never know what'll send em over the edge. have had them come in from buck scent and rattling and with estrus too.
