Pistol question
«
on:
November 22, 2010, 10:17:16 PM »
I am about to trade a KelTec .380 for a Rossi Model 972 in .357 mag. Heres my question, I hunt wooded areas with no real chance for a shot over about 50 yards, is this enough gun for a white tail or hog?
Mods, I apologize if this is the wrong area, first post here.

I'd say you're good to go for whitetails and hogs.
Is it the Model R97206 .357 Magnum 6" Barrel 6-Shot?

I would think that would take either one down.

I have a Taurus .357 mag. That is definitely plenty of gun at that range. Hornady makes some hot rounds that come in a box of I think 20. They are the stoutest ones I've found. If you are concerned about power you might buy some of them for hunting. One shot and you will feel and hear the difference.

If you're looking for stout ammo check out Buffalo Bore. I know a .357 is plenty for deer but as far as hogs go I guess it would depend on the size of the hog. And of course, shot placement is everything.
