Things are a little slow, so I thought I'd everyone up on my duck dog, Harley. He is 3 mo. old weighs 33 lb and is in socialization training right now. He goes everywhere with me including work a couple days a week and travels well. I've shot the .22 around him a lot and it does not bother him at all. He retrieves both bumpers and birds for fun, is crate trained and will walk on a leash. I hope to get him in the water this weekend and get him to retrive a bumper from the water. I think he is going to make a great retriever if I don't blow it.

Harley retrieved from the water this weekend. It took a little coaxing, but when he figured out he could swim he went nuts and retrieved like a maniac! 14 wks. old.

I'll work that for awhile, then retrive from the water with decoys set out. Then wait till 6mo old and get to work.

Training the dog is the easy part, blowing that stupid duck call is tuff. It took me less time to learn to play a guitar! crybaby2

Today Harley retrieved bumpers through decoys on land. Never paid any attention to the decoys.
