For hunters and fishermen, rising before the morning sun reaches the horizon is nothing out of the ordinary. The breaking dawn pursuit of monster bucks; the chilly mornings calling in diving ducks; the early July morning casts for hungry largemouths -- it's what we as sportsmen live for.

But once a year, a day comes along where we rise and shine early not for the woods, but for a land much more unfamiliar than even the murkiest lake cove or thickest hidden holler. It's called Black Friday, and it's THE best time  to get your hands on the most discounted hunting and fishing gear of the year -- and the only time to actually have an excuse for holding your wife's purse.

In the list below, you'll find a compilation of 2010's best day-after Thanksgiving deals from some of the top retailers in the outdoor industry. Every item listed will lead you to a savings of AT LEAST $50, and many discounts are even steeper.

Deals include:

$200 off Benelli Super Black Eagle Shotguns at Gander Mountain
$100 off Weatherby Vanguard Rifle, (post popular calibers) with Scope and Hard Case at Cabelas
$250 off 24-gun Fire Safe at Dick's Sporting Goods
$300 off Daiwa Spinning Reels

From gun cabinets and shotguns to fishing reels and binoculars, take a few minutes to browse the list and see what you can stuff your stocking with this Christmas.

Hey I still owe you a sticker or a mug or something! I'll get on that.

We are going to launch the store back up sometime in the coming months. We used to have one but had to take it down during the redesign.

Man I will go to any WMA in Arkansas on opening day any year before I'll go to a store before 11 AM on black Friday. You get there before daylight you better take a xanax or it's a cage fight over $20.

"give me what I want, and I'll go away". Great info Kevin. I think I'll have to chug on over to the concrete jungle and see if I can't score me some stuff I've been putting off buying. It will probably mean I'll have to chug on over to the mall with Mrs. Mpoor, but "a mans gotta do whata mans gotta do.  Grin

Gotta say $200 off SBE Benellis is pretty crazy. I'm tempted.
