While making a short round squirrel hunting and deer scouting on Saturday, I had an encounter with one of the most feared creatures in the AR woods-and I've been scratching ever since.  Tiny seed ticks with chiggers thrown in.  I called myself hitting the off before launching off, but it either wasn't enough or something failed.  What do you guys recommend for the most effective control.  I sure hate dousing down with bug juice before walking to where I'm going to climb a tree.  Thanks, Blindset

Spray your clothing and gear with Repel Permanone a few days before hitting the woods.  In addition to spraying all outer layers of your clothing, make sure to spray inside your boots, inside the cuffs of your sleeves, and inside the waist and cuffs of your pants.

Ditto on the Permanone. It's getting harder to find. I've heard there is a new product out that has replaced it. If you use it the only ticks you will find on you will be dead. It doesn't work on chiggars though.

The Permanone can be bought in farm stores or ordered through them in a full strength form. A little goes a long way. At first it will have a chemical smell. Spray and let dry then go squirrel or turkey hunting you will have to leave the clothig out longer to let the smell bleach out.

Deer season is over so you dont have to worry about the smell, the permone is the way to go but it does have a strong smell to it and you dont want to apply it to your skin it can make you sick.i allso have had tick fever 58,000,dollars worth you feel like you have the flu but thats not what it is your swab will come back negative so if your doctor can not figure it out tell them obout it there will be some suffering head ache ,fever, etc.

I use vanilla and have had very good luck.  I dab it on my shoes, clothing and under the bill of my hat.  Seems to work good on all insects. usa2
