Those wood accents will add a lot to the final look of the boat. Looking good.

I found a $150 can of Interlux anti-fouling paint on eBay for $20 last week, so I couldn't pass it up. The bottomside of the boat will be red by next week.

Did all that I could do with my orbital sander without turning the boat over. Going to lure some buddies over this weekend with a case of beer to help me flip this thing and sand it all the way down.

A few staining updates. I put the planks in the background, along with the boat seat, just to kind of give a visual of the two stain colors.

P.S. You'll notice the plywood floor is uninstalled. Had a little screw up with that. About 24 hours after screwing it down, all of the 2x4 braces came loose. I originally used 3m marine glue, but I did not scrape the old carpet adhesive off the hull good enough, so the bond was not strong. I had to re-scrape the entire hull, and re-glue, but the bond should be sufficiently strong now.

A few pics of the boat after the first coat of Interlux. I have a gallon of this stuff, so probably going to put at least another two coats on it, possibly even three.

This thread is starting to get pretty long, so I thought I would post some of the original boat pictures again so you won't have to go back to the first page to compare.

Also guys, just learned this boat model is a 1959. Still not sure who it was made by, but man, that is even older than I thought. I was guessing late 60's, to early 70's. WOW.

Wood floor installed. Still have to put trim around the edges but other than that the deck is pretty much complete.

Appreciate it guys. It's been a lot of work and a lot of fun.

Still need to finish the trim around the deck, add another trout handle to the other drawer and get some oar locks and oars, but other than that, pretty much on the home stretch of finishing it.
