Went out to our lease Sunday morning early to try to hear some come down never heard a one did a little calling with no reply i hope before the 16th of April they get it going it has been cold and wet the last few weeks they may be a little behind i found some scratching on a old road bed and put up the game cam to see if they are coming through at that spot and what time of the day but we need some warm weather for a couple of weeks one thing that is good its raining cats and dogs now maybe it will wash some of that pollen out of the air it is hard to kill a turkey when you sneeze every 5 minutes about 5 times

I haven't been out, but down around Nashville lots of birds were heard by my friends this weekend. A guy I work with heard a lot in Batesville yesterday morning. Ditto on the pollen. Yesterday with all that wind was rough on the allergies.

My cousing in NW Arkansas found 50+ mushrooms caught some fish and saw flock of Turkeys in the field yesterday. Sounds like he had a pretty good day.
I rode my Harley...

Went out last weekend and heard 6 turkey's gobble 81 times. Though when they went to ground they wouldn't make a peep. Excited about opening day.

Your in the best turkey country in the state. I grew up in Hardy, so I can attest to that fact.

Our birds seem to have lock-jaw as well. We got 20-30 at a time on the cameras but haven't heard a single cluck or purr in 2 weeks. Last year by opening weekend they were already with the hens and could care less about any calling we did. Season started in Louisiana a week or two ago which is only about 20 minutes from where we hunt. I hate to say it but they may be on to something with the early season start!

My friends down in Nashville are hearing birds every day. I've talked to them every day for about 3 weeks. My neice missed a big gobbler on Sunday. I hope we can smack a few this weekend. Hopefully one of them Mike Poor caliber birds.
