AR Trappers Asso is having their fur sale Sat (19th) at the Natl. Guard Armory bldg. in Russellville.  General trapping season ends at the end of Feb, with extended water season for beaver, muskrat, nutria and land season for coyote to the end of March.  Prices are low but trappers are hammering lots of varmints that would potentially eliminate a lot of hunting species such as turkey, ducks, etc.  Been trapping on duck lease area with my stepson for the past two weeks and caught beaver, otter, bobcat, raccoons, muskrat, mink and nutria.  Lots of ducks still around and lots of piles of duck feathers in different areas every different trap check.  Those of you'all that have hunting leases, but don't trap, need make effort to contact those that do and turn them loose on the areas past hunting season time-be money in the bank for you come hunting time.

BTW-heard on the Channel 11 news this evening the bear kill was 400+ last year and top two counties were Pope and Scott.
