Simms has already quit making felt soles. Just a matter of time before they are banned permanently. Oh well, I need some new boots anyway.

I have always used rubber soles,I always wanted to get me some felt wadding boots.But I guess I'll never get that option. BangHead

I've never had anything but felt soles. I actually would be surprised if they ban them. One reason is because companies like Orvis are making removable sole boots. Snap on, snap off. You can dedicate a felt sole for each individual river/stream you fish.

I have friends that told me felt soles are the way to go,they grip better when wadding.I'll have to check into that from Orvis.
