Has anybody been fly fishing lately? Fall is one of my favorite times to go but with all this rain it hasn't been worth it because the waters are so high. Wondering if anybody knows a place the water might not be flowing like the MIssississippi. Probably just a pipe dream but let me know if you know of a place.

There has definately been a ton of water this year. COE just said they will begin lowering the lakes, so Tailwater fishing is nill. The trout parks are probably your best bet. They are a little rain dependent, but you are not at the mercy of water generation from the dams. Also depending where you want to go, the north fork of the White is a good option. Similiar to the free stone rivers in Colorado, it can be very rewarding and is not overly fished.

Great. I'll actually be headin' up to that part of the state over Thanksgiving. I guess they will be running heavy generation at Norfork?
Probably on chance for me to hit the Little Red on the way up either, bet Greers Ferry will be running heavy, always seems to be.

I will also be in North Central Ark. all next week. I plan on going over around Cotter at least one day in-between hunting.

Any idea if there is any wadable water up there?

Keep an eye on the generation and a call to Steve Dally at the Mtn River Fly Shop wouldnt be a bad idea. There are section of the White that are wadable during generation, but depends on the cfs they are pushing. If you are near Cotter, I would recommend heading up to the North Fork of the White in Missouri. It runs into Lake norfork and offers some great fishing. A Missouri license is only $7. :) Give Shawn at Taylormade Treks a call for river levels.
