Fly Tying Tip.

Clearing the eye of the hook after the fly has been tied ,If there is even a hint of cement in the hook eye of the fly ,it's much easier to get rid of it as you are finishing off the fly while the cement is still wet, rather than waiting until after the cement has hardened. Stip the fluff from the base of a hackle feather, then insert the quill into the eye of the hook and draw the feather through the eye . If the cement is still soft, the feather will clear any excess from the eye.

Good tip. I also use my bodkin to clear it out if it's dry already. If the hook is too small, I use a sewing pin.
