I guess they are about to pull funding for a few different hatcheries, specifically Greers Ferry. You have to think this is going to really hurt the trout population. I understand times are tough and budget cuts have to be made, but I never understand cutting anything that has to do with tourism ... ever. You're saving money on the front-end, but losing your ass on the back-end.

The cuts are due to the Dept. of the Interior's budget cuts. It's a parallel to what ee've been hearing on the news lately about the teacher's unions. Though they don't get paid anything to begin with imo, the govt. shouldn't have to be responsible for all of their union demands, and I can get on board with that I suppose. Point against them being, given the state of the economy, they have to make sacrifices just like everybody else.

I guess, as sportsman, this is our turn.

I know this  bs,specially when it doesn't have anything to do with are state.Here in Arkansas we are not allowed to have unions specially where I work it's always been that way.I guess this is another way for the goverment to stick it in our rear.

Not looking good. Not sure if they will close it all the way or just put a lot of limits on things.

That sucks. I visit that thing with my kids 2 or 3 times a year. Guess the winter community pond stockings will suffer as well. Bastards
