The wind was crazy.I got checked by the game warden when i moved to a different spot, glad to see he was checking people.I called up 2 jakes around noon, one gobbled, they hung around for 20 minutes looking for a hen,it was fun to watch them.I hope they are there next year. This morning i got on one but he hung up,must have been with hens. One gobbled at 9 at bottom of the ridge i was on but he never came in.I will be after them in the morning.

During turkey season I have to live vicariously through you guys. There are a few turkeys up here in Wyoming, but mostly up in the northeast Black Hills section. I live at 8,000 ft so I guess they don't like it this high up.

I'm more likely to run across a moose than a turkey!  icon_rendeer

We hunted in Kentucky and yes the wind was blowing and the birds were stubborn. We managed to kill two and saw lots of turkeys but couldn't close the deal on any others. Gobbled on the limb but not much on the ground and we hunted all day. But there was one gobbler near the hotel that strutted for three days within sight of the highway.

Brother n Law killed two in Kansas.
