When locateing turkey on roost in the evening this information is only good for that night isn't it. Or do turkey come back and roost in the same spot every night. I mean it would be nice if they always came back to the same spot.

Usually the turkeys will roost in the same area for a while. I found an area towards the end of deer season where turkeys were roostin and their still roostin there. Hopefully il kill one from there in the mornin

Thanks for your reply calebs. Another question, do they perfer to roost in hardwoods or pine or cedar? And do they like it around the edge of fields or deep in the woods or just where ever and no pattern to it at all? Have looked in a patch of pine and hardwood mix for feathers and droppings but came up empty so far. Will keep trying.  Hope your having a good hunt.

It's been my experience that they like to roost around the same area, like Caleb said. It's probably not going to be the exact same tree, but unless they've run out, they'll be along the same line.

They like to generally stay pretty close to fields in hardwoods. Doesn't mean you will always find them roosted there or you won't find them roosted down in deep hollows though. But they like to come out and pick along field lines. They could be right on the field edge or 100 yards back in, just depends.
