What do you think about the new poll question? Which turkey would you rather bag?

A. 12 inch beard
B. 1.5 inch spurs
C. 25 lb bird.

I'm going with spurs myself.

Ditto on the spurs. I like the thrill of getting shredded by some of those spikes! Shocked

I guess I would pick the beard. I really don't care how long the beard is as long as I can see it. Not that interested in the spurs and a 25lb bird can get real heavy real quick if you have to walk far. For me they just have to gobble all the way in. I HATE SILENT TURKEYS!

I have killed a turkey with a 12.25" beard, killed a 23# 9 oz bird in Texas this year (my heaviest) but my biggest spurs are 1.25 and I have killed a few of those. I got to go with the spurs.

Have to go with the spurs. Never killed one with a 12" beard, but still gotta go with long spurs. Killed one with 1 1/8" spurs, and killed one that weighed 26 lbs. The one with the long spurs only weighed about 19 lbs. and the one that weighed 26 lbs. didn't have particularly long spurs. Go figure. Killed one that weighed
23 lbs. and had a heavy 10 1/2" beard, but had spurs like a jake. You would think that the big birds would have it all, but it just doesn't work that way. How has everyone's season been going? Mine has been tough.
Have had birds in close several times, but just couldn't close the deal. Though the birds i've been hunting have had lots of pressure. Seems like the gobbler numbers are down this year, maybe not enough competition for the hens. Good luck to all on the remainder of the season.
