Quail seminar scheduled for nature center

LITTLE ROCK – Why has the bobwhite quail population declined? What is the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission doing to reverse the trend? How can landowners manage property to benefit quail?

Answers to these questions and more will be available during a program at the Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center in Little Rock.

The seminar will be 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m., Feb. 24. The nature center is in Riverfront Park in the River Market District of downtown Little Rock. Free parking is available along streets in the River Market District. Seating is limited. Call the nature center office at 501-907-0636 to register.

AGFC wildlife biologists will provide information on quail habitat, give recommendations and answer questions. The seminar is designed for landowners with 40 or more acres to manage. Individual property owners, hunting clubs and lessors are invited to attend for ideas on quail habitat management and information about available cost-share incentives.
