I'll finally be able to hunt the last 4 days of the season. Looking for reports on how the season has been and also where I might find a little success in the last 4 days.

arkansas doesnt close till the 29th, what is this last 4 days you speak of??? lol

ive seen alot of pintails and mallards and gadwalls on the arkansas river around mulberry..... only thing is... if the water isnt high enough.... you cant get to where they are.... without a loooong walk anyway.  Sad and they change the water level on that thing so much its not even funny. Sad  one day its up to your waist.... next day... its dry ground...... Sad

how is everyone elses hunting going?

I hunt public ground around Russellville and the season has been lousy. Although, I am a newbie but I haven't even heard of many shots. I believe I'm going to do a "hail Mary" and try the white river next week.

I think that is where I will try as well, somewhere around the white river...most likely Hurricane. But I am also wondering how the cash has been doing. Anyone willing to say?

From what I have heard on the Cache, it has been equally as bad.

My son has done well in the swamps at Hurricane/henry grey.  He said Little Bell always has "some" shooting but he is back in the cypress and hardwood.  Of course, can't say exactly where or he'd be upset to find 50 hunters in his hole.

Ducks are hard to find in SE AR, unless your on the MS River.  Field hunts are hit or miss...if you have a good shoot one day they will be gone the next.  The goose numbers are building, might make for an interesting conservation season.

So the hunting in the west around Russellville and then in the SE are all not going well. Hurricane is OK and the Cash is sucking it up. What about up in the NE around Big Lake and Balck River? Any good news out of that region of the state?

Im not sure if you have payed attention to your post or not, so im gonna break it down for you. You have had 180 people view your post , with only 8 replies. I think that out of those 180, most of them are actually killing lots of ducks, but you notice they arent speaking. and like the one guy said he cant tell you were his son is killing them because there will be 50 people in there. And I know you didnt expect a bunch of people telling you were all the ducks were, but pointing you in the right direction would be good enough. Well since its the last few days , Im gonna see if i can help.
Dagmar has been crushing the ducks all year long ! the water has fallen , but anywere theres water theres ducks. bayo meto , has more ducks now than all year long, they have been working good one day and bad the next, BUT its the last days. So wear a bullet proof vest, if you go. The cache has been great. If you stay around I 40 and Hwy 70 you will be doing some shooting. Other than that its all you. Good luck.

The year of Dagmar is what i will call 2011-2012 season.

I was able to hunt quite a bit this season and when water was in Dagmar it was hot, real hot until word got out then shortly after the water fell out and all of those ducks just went a bit further south down into cache and white NWRs and if you had holes it was hot.

Anyhow it was a bad season for us, just to inconsistent with the weather and not a big push of ducks down. We moved to public land a few times and had some good hunts however.

How did everyone else do?

There were tons of ducks between the pages of DU, but if you don't get the weather to get the ducks down to where you hunt, it doesn't matter.  Too much water and warm weather.
